What exactly is the harm in microplastic? Where does it come from? Why doesn’t it go away or only go away slowly? And what does it do to the environment when it gets there? Questions upon questions. Wasser 3.0 helps to answer these questions.
Plastics are our everyday companions: Whether it is the toothbrush in the morning, the peeling in the shower, the drinking cup, the PET bottle or the lunchbox – we use plastics in a variety of forms everywhere. If these plastics get into the environment, for example via cosmetic products in the local wastewater or through the abrasion of plastic products, the microplastic becomes a global problem, which harms microorganisms in the water and enters our food chain.
REthink wants to raise awareness for these connections and to motivate ecological actions. Wasser 3.0 has set itself the task of informing about the entry paths of microplastic into the environment and showing ways that every person can use to reduce the entries.
